From what I've heard, it only does that effect if you have a Quartz Extreme
capable Mac.
I can 100% confirm this is definitely the case. It didn't appear on my G3/400 until I enabled Quartz Extreme on my Radeon 7000. Expose did work however and was really swift, more so that moving the windows about in fact!!
This rules out most (all?) CRT based iMacs.
It rules out all G3 based iMacs, as well as a large number of G3 Powerbooks and iBooks (only exclusions to that being thew late iBooks with 8MB or 16MB Radeons). The eMac and iMac G4 both support QE.
