Hi i will be installing panther tomorrow, and want to make a fresh installment, (since i have 9.2 programs and whant to parttion mi hard disk), after installing 10.3 should i install 9.2 again??? or will it be there eaven if i format the disk with panther???

If your HD is not presently partitioned, re-formatting it to create partitions will erase everything on it. So, yes, you will have to install OS 9.x again.

If you want to partition your drive to put 9 on one and X on the other, sure, do it. But keep in mind it is not required, and not even recommended, to put each on a separate partition, unless you have a particular reason for it. I know a lot of people who have their systems set this way, who regret it and are looking forward to getting back to a simple one-partition scheme.

In any event, your best course (after you back up everything you want to keep) would be to erase, reformat, install OS 9 and update it to the latest version, and then install Panther.

There is a very good booklet put out by the fine folks at TidBITS on the subject of upgrading to Panther. I haven't seen it, but I have heard that many people have found it very helpful in the process of migrating to Panther. It's available online as a downloadable PDF, costs US $5.00.

Seems a small price to pay for really good advice that will bring you peace of mind before, during and after the Panther install.
