I don't think it really works, but I suppose there's no harm in it.
Most of the time, it doesn't. I just get a bounce back saying the address was invalid, anyway. But, for those rare, relatively unsophisticated spammers, it can be highly useful, so it doesn't hurt to at least give it a try.
John, I stopped using the "bounce" because it seemed to INCREASE the amount of spam. However, using POPMonitor does allow me to delete mail from the server BEFORE I download. Conversely, with Mail & Eudora, you have to download the mail first for the "junk" rules to be applied.
