A while back, someone mentioned that 8MB cache HDs run slightly hotter than
the 2MB variety. I'd like to find some more info about the extra heat from
8MB cache drives (Google gave me too many irrevelant hits). Anyone know
more about the heat issue?

I can tell you that it has not been a factor whatsoever in my fanless G3/700 iMac. I run that machine all the time (20 hours a day) with no problems.
