The new eMac (it takes a little while to get to Alaska) I believe also has a 4 wire Fire Wire connector and I believe USB 1 as I saw no hype on the ads, and the spec sheets gave me no indication of 6 wire Fire Wire just a little note to this little honey below. It is an 4 to 6 wire adapter. Apple wants 29.00 per cable.
Well the stupid question, are there cheaper adapters or should I just stay with Apples, a couple of bucks is no big deal but 4 of these things and a big price difference do add up a little. However, I do not want Apple to say, no cable no soup for you. The iPod would probably be worth Apple Care and using another cable * might* be a way to say it was not Apples problem.

I also read where 10.3 might lose my info on a Hard Drive with a Oxford Chip in it. I am downloading 10.3.2. I have a 10 meg HD with all my OS 9 stuff on it. This in a little case from OWC with an Oxford Chip bridge. Once 10.3.2 is loaded is it then safe to connect the fire wire Oxford Chip Hard Disk and use it ?
