I am looking at the new mini iPods, the kids and my wifes birthday is
coming up but they require 6 pin fire wire or USB 2. The Pismos have
a 4 wire Fire Wire connector and USB 1.

My Pismo came with dual 6-pin firewire connectors....

I also read where 10.3 might lose my info on a Hard Drive
with a Oxford Chip in it. I am downloading 10.3.2. I have a 10 meg HD
with all my OS 9 stuff on it. This in a little case from OWC with an
Oxford Chip bridge.

I believe the data loss is only an issue with the Oxford chipset for Firewire 800 drives, though I could be wrong....

But if you got it from OWC, I'd be pretty confident. You might give them a call and just ask. They're pretty helpful folks.
