okay - where do I find what firmware is installed? I can't find it 
under system profiler.

As long as you do not select "erase and install" or "clean install" it 
will install in addition to 9.2. You'll then have OSx, Classic and the 
ability to boot into OS 9.2
My G4 Imac came with both classic and OSX.

Since this is my daughter's new blueberry, I don't want to take away 
the ability for her to play some older games she has. thanks agian.
She probably would not be happy if you did that.. Her games may play 
fine in Classic, if not just boot into OS 9.
