I recently moved back to Macs with a new 1Ghz eMac. However, I noted a problem that I am not sure if we are behind the PC world (gasp) that maybe someone has a solution.
Congratulations.

Is this possible with an eMac? My question is... is this hardware or software?
It's software and you can burn multisession CD's. You can do it with Apple's built in Disc burning using the Disk Utility. It's well explained how in David Pogue's: "OS X The Missing Manual, Panther Edition" on page 340. (May also be available on the missing manuals website)? Worth checking. My apologies for not typing it out, but it's a lengthy tip.

If it is software, can you buy additional software that does better (something like Toast?)
Toast does it easily and painlessly. However, you do have to buy the program. Toast is probably the most "user friendly" burning software out there. Nero, CD Creator, etc. cannot touch it for ease of operation.
