Matt, oh how terrible!  That's essentially the SAME configuration for 
which I just ordered a copy of Panther myself!  Now I'll wait and see 
what happens with your situation.  (The only difference is that I have 
only 680MB RAM.)  I was led to believe that Panther would give me all 
the functionality of X without the speed hit of Jaguar.  Panther, I was 
assured, would work just fine on an iMacDV/400!
