My 10 G iPod is loaded with 7G of tunes, and I have passed on my older 500 MHz iMac (the one that has all the same tunes stored on its external FW HD) to one of my daughters. When I plug my iPod into my new 1.25 G iMac, a window prompts me "this iPod is linked to another Mac. Do you want to erase the iPod's library, and sync to this new Mac's iTunes Library?" The only problem is there's nothing in the new iTunes Library. I don't particularly relish loading all my CDs into this machine if it isn't truly necessary.
I don't want to wipe the iPod's library if I don't have to. Help! I must be missing something here. How do I link the iPod's tunes to the new Mac's iTunes?
Patrick
