I picked up a bondi (rev a) iMac when the local uni (Waikato) were upgrading one of their mac labs, after upgrading the hard drive and ram it runs OS X acceptably, mind you I don't use the machine for a lot of proccessor intensive stuff.
BTW If your after an upgrade for your iMac theres a guy selling a Sonnet Harmoni G3 500 (which will give your imac a 500MHz cpu and firewire) on trade me, http://www.trademe.co.nz (Note: prices are in new Zealand dollars, 1$nz = .66$us approx). There are also a lot of second-hand iMacs at the $200 - $300 mark (again new zealand dollars).
