It depends on the specific emac. the first 1GHz ones took PC133 SDRAM, but the current 1GHz models take DDR333 SDRAM.
The best way to check would be to check in Apple System Profiler - RAM types are generally indicated in there. (I have one of the earlier 1GHz eMacs and it clearly identified my RAM as SDRAM with a speed of PC133).
