Thanks for the warning. I think I'll stick with OpenOffice 1.0.3 even if
I do need to have X11 running first. Are there any other office suites
for the Mac that are compatible wth MS Office XP files?
Yes.
Appleworks (Word and Excel)
ThinkFree Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
TextEdit (Word)
AbiWord for OS X (no X11 needed, in serious beta, but reads Word files just fine)
Keynote (Powerpoint)
Mariner Write (Word - limited)
and, of course, Microsoft Office v.X for Mac.
There's probably others.
