Hello Maxtek
I had a sticky hd in a 5500. as it was a no win situation. I tried the get
physical approach. I removed the hd from the computer, gave it  a firm slap on
the base and then on the top - no good. Tried same again a bit  harder. Presto
no blinking light. I had to do the same about 2 months later. Vic. . .
