Wayde n Charles Revs A through D (tray loaders) and the very first generation of 350MHz don't have fire wire. Everything 400MHz plus does have fire wire. Most accelerator cards ie Sonnet, Powerlogic have Firewire upgrades built in, so it would mean a processor upgrade before you could use Firewire in your Rev D.

That's because USB 1.1 is too slow to handle anything above 2x writing reliably. The iMac doesn't have USB 2 so falls back to USB 1.1. Move the CDRW into a Firewire case (does your Rev. D have FW?
