You' ve nearly the exact same setup as me. I am also running Panther, although I went from 10.1 to jaguar then to Panther, but I'm confident enough that I plan to get rid of the older versions of OS X and just stick with the Panther disks, unless of course I get Tiger and it works on my iMac. In short, I can confidently say you shouldn't have anyproblems adding in Panther, except keep in mind you'll still have to have two partitions- one OS 9 and one OS X because of the way your iMac was built.
