I accidentally hit the control+option+apple+* keys instead of control+option+apple+eject and my screen went BW negative, when I tried to reverse (by hitting the same series of keys) it became BW positive. How do I get my color back? I tried fiddling with Displays in Preferences.
That function is in the Universal Access pane of the System Preferences. Click on the "Seeing" tab. Click once on the button titled "Switch to Black on White." Also, click on the button next to it and make sure it says "Switch to Grayscale" (which means it's in color mode).
