Check this: Open your Mail program, Go to topmost menu bar and to Mail (to the immediate right of the Blue apple icon) Scroll down the menu and open the "preferences". Go across the icon menu in preferences till you come to the icon called "Viewing" and click on it. Look down to the third line which is the second checkbox in the window and make sure that it is checked. If it wasn't checked then you should now get all the images sent to you in their correct places. Let us know if this was the problem. If not, my next suggestion is to repair your permissions. If you know what that is, you should do it periodically anyway because it reconnects broken links that inevitably happen within the OS in time. If you don't know, I will send you pictures with my explanation to show you what to do, but it will have to be off list since the LEM lists don't accept anything but plain text messages.
