Subject: Re: CD-writer for iMac

Hello, people

This is a question on a very related subject
I ave been offered an ACER CDRW unit 4x4x6,
but using Sytems 9.2.2. I am kind of puzzled:

Disks do not appear on the desk top, CD burning software do not see it,
yet it shows up in Apple system profile

Do I need a driver for it?
Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Jorge

What does Apple System Profiler say is the drive mechanism? In OS9 you can edit the burn support files with a program like bbedit, even the free lite version.
