The Flat Panel (LCD) iMac G4 has a vertical blower that blows out around the base of the screen neck. It's variable speed and very quite, I barely notice mine (G4/800 iMac 15")
So quiet that I actually thought my iMac 1GHz didn't have one, but now I know.
Would I ever go back to my old 1GHz eMac ? NO WAY!!!
The eMac even put my MDD to shame when it came to sounding like a jet engine!!! ---
I thought all the G3 iMacs were fanless.
No, the tray loading rev. A-D had fans.
