First of all, it has crashed on me 3 or 4 times. When it crashes, I end up with black text boxes on my desktop with a list of errors and stating at the bottom that it is contacting a debugger server. After that, it locks up. I am suspecting RAM with that one. I pulled the suspect 256 MB stick and replaced it with one of the 64 MB sticks that came with it. I'll see how that works.
Another issue I have been having is with the software updates. I tried doing them all at once, but it locked up. So I tried one at a time. I finally got the iTunes and Quicktime updates to work. But the 10.3.5 combined update keeps crashing. It says something about not having permission to write to some /tmp/apple.software.update file. Or something like that.
Finally, I was wondering how hot one of these things are supposed to run. I noticed when I pulled that stick on RAM out, I felt a bit of heat coming from the top of the machine. I also noticed the leads on the RAM felt pretty warm. Is this anything I should be worried about?
Thanks fpr all the help. My son is looking forward to be turned loose on it.
Thanks--
Kevin
