Another issue I have been having is with the software updates. I tried doing them all at once, but it locked up. So I tried one at a time. I finally got the iTunes and Quicktime updates to work. But the 10.3.5 combined update keeps crashing. It says something about not having permission to write to some /tmp/apple.software.update file. Or something like that.
Have you tried the following:
1. DOWNLOAD and save the update 2. Repair permissions. 3. Install the update. 4. Repair permissions.
If that doesn't work, try logging in as "root" and then repeating the above (from step 2, of course.)
