I never had any complaints with 8.1 on my PowerBase, but then went to 9.1 anyway. The chief advantage of 9is that it'll network a little easier and peripherals will be more likely to work right away. I later installed Jaguar on it (w/G3 card). Now it sits in the basement...
If you do go to OS 9, make sure you go to at least 9.1.

This is not an iMac question, but I am sure some of you may know the answer.

I have upgraded the OS on my PowerBase 180 and on my 6400 to 8.1. (My eMac of course, uses Panther).

My question is this... is it worth it to upgrade these older machines to OS 9.0?
Does anyone know what the major differences would be between the two?
If it is worth it, is the additional memory requirement?

Thanks in advance
