It doesn't really matter what browser you use.  The companies give those
requirements because the routers use very JavaScript heavy configuration
pages that don't work in older browsers (like Netscape 4 etc.).  It is
far easier to say that you need to have the latest version of IE than
have tech support deal with people using old browsers.  You can
generally use any recent browser to configure the routers.

I recently got a Netgear WGT624 802.11g router and I am very pleased
with it.  I use it on my Pismo with an Apple Airport card (802.11b).  It
is supposed to be one of the most powerful (transmit power) wireless
routers available.  I set it up on my PC using Mozilla Firefox, but I
can try it on in Safari, and Chimera on my Pismo tonight.
