It works for many of the .doc files, but not all of them. Now trying to figure out what version of Word they were saved in...
Lately, I've been using NeoOffice/J 0.8.4 to open Word docs that people insist on sending me. It's worked better than TextEdit with documents that have tables and graphics in them. Not quite aquified yet, but it's free.
