From: Miche Doherty : IIRC (I have QT Pro) you see the nag screen on the first launch of Quicktime Player after boot. Before launching it, set the system date to ten years (or whatever) from now. Launch QT, click the "maybe later" button, then reset the date.
Now QT has a mental note to nag you again in 2014.
Miche. *Thanks, will certainly try that...
Well, that suggestion relates to the "upgrade to Pro" splash, not to the "check for updates" dialogue. I can't get the latter to appear on my system, even when I temporarily trashed QT preferences. I do remember seeing it ages ago, but I can't recall how I got rid of it.
Assuming you have QuickTime 6.0.3, which is the last version that runs on OS 9, you could always check the "Check for Updates Automatically" box. Then presumably it will stop bugging you to check manually, and just go ahead and look - it won't *find* anything, because QT for OS 9 isn't being updated any more.
