Sorry, I forgot to give a complete explanation. The iMac is running 10.2.x and Appleworks' RAM allocation is handled by the OS.

-donald henry hinkle

I've been running Appleworks 6 on a G3/600 iMac (512 MB RAM) for a while, and found that the database module was very unstable while I was running OS 10.2.8, even with a small database which ran fine on my old Performa with OS 8.1. The situation seems to have improved since I updated to OS 10.3.4, plus the latest Appleworks patches. I don't know if an OS upgrade is a possibility for you, but it might help.

It's sad that Apple messed up a good product like Appleworks; I never had problems before version 6.
