Jack, this won't work in Gaston's case. The information he needs is on a SCSI drive. I haven't seen a USB or FW case for SCSI drives.
The solution for Gaston is to connect the iMac (which I assume he is taking with him) to the 8500 via Ethernet. Either copy the info onto the 8500's internal drive, or set up the 8500 so that the external SCSI drive has permission to share. The iMac should then be able to see the SCSI drive via the 8500 and you can copy directly from it, essentially using the 8500 as a big SCSI-to-Ethernet converter.
