This brings up another problem. The Firewire ports on my iMac do not function, and, apparently, haven't since I went to OS X (which coincidently was the same time the the hard drive was replaced. . .). I don't know if this is a software issue, hardware issue, firmware issue, or what. I'm going to look it over when I'm in there replacing the hard drive.

Perhaps the Firewire card was removed or not seated properly when the HD was replaced.
