I don't want to get into a Mail v. Eudora war, because they're both great IMO, but I've been absolutely delighted with Mail since the first day I tried it and have never felt that it makes you "change" any more than ANY new email program would have you get used to its paradigm. If you don't like Mail's tri-window approach, that's fine, but I would hardly say it "forces" you to do ANYTHING. It's much more customisable than you might at first realise.

I've tried Apple Mail several times (usually after an OS upgrade) but I keep coming back to Eudora. I find the navigation easier in Eudora even after I configured Apple Mail to have one window per mail box like I have in Eudora. The problem is that you can't go from a message to the next message without closing the first message window. In Eudora, once I open a message, all I have to do to read the next message is hit cmd-down arrow and the next message in that mailbox opens, replacing the message that I finished reading. I've tried to find a way to set up Apple Mail to do this but I haven't succeeded. I wish that there would be a "Missing Manual" written for Apple Mail; I already have the "Take Control" book, but I couldn't find an answer in it.

What about the reported problems of mail just disappearing from your hard drive and the reports of mail not being sent even though the program says it has been?
