I have recently purchased a Harmoni upgrade card for my rev.B iMac. This came with a larger hard drive (over 15 gig). What DVD-Rs are compatible with my set up to enable me to burn DVDs?
If you're running OS X, then Patchburn III (a software program you get for free from versiontracker.com or macupdate.com) will enable almost ANY DVD-burner to work with your machine as long as it has Firewire or is installed internally.
What software will be required?
You'll want Toast for this, latest version.
I should strongly warn you that creating video DVDs on a G3 is an exercise in sheer torture -- each step takes HOURS and HOURS to complete, and Apple's DVD software won't even install -- you'll need a small army of GUI'd UNIX tools to make a go of this, even with Toast's help.
Data DVDs or Audio DVDs, otoh, are much easier to do.
If you want to make video DVDs, I'd *strongly* recommend a minimum of a G4 machine. Doing this on a G3 is like trying to build a nuclear submarine using only Legos.
