I have a 15" flat panel iMac, 10.3.8, which. I've owned for over two years.
I have only used MacJanitor on for maintenance.
Questions:
1. It actually takes several minutes to load OnyX after I click on it; is this normal?
2. For over an hour the program tried to "Verify and Repair Permissions" while the aqua progress bar barely traveled 1/5 of the way to the end (I ended up clicking on "close" to try to stop the process, which didn't work, so I used "force-quit")
is it normal to take such a long time for this procedure? Or do you think it just wasn't operating correctly?
3. Same thing happened during "Update Whatis database" and again had to force-quit to stop the lack of progress process
again, what's up?
4. Finally, during the "update Whatis database" process, an Error 33 came up: this was a long list with a number of repeats of the following information: Cannot find file:/usr/share/man3/DHprams_print.3ssl
what does that mean? if it is a problem, can OnyX fix it? if not, how can it be fixed?
Thanks for all of your help,

How is it better to use an application dedicated to Usenet vs. one like Thunderbird?
Details???
Usenet clients are built with Usenet in mind (obviously enough), while it always seems more of an afterthought with the Mozilla apps. I find the three-pane interface, which is great for a handful of email accounts and maybe a dozen mail folders, gets horribly crowded and cluttered when you add loads of newsgroups. I like the more flexible filter/killfile options in MT-Newswatcher, too, given how many corners of Usenet are crawling with spammers, trolls and other timewasters.
Again, it's a matter of taste.
Miche.
