Oops! Looks like I jumped the gun somewhat. After reading more closely, it appears that Real Alternative is not compatible with Mac OS. So, let me rephrase the question, is there an alternative to Real Player when it comes to reading "Real" files in OS X?
Yes. VLC (http://www.videolan.org) is a player that can handle most (but not all) Realplayer codecs, allowing you to play Real files without using Realplayer. It even allows you to convert the files into another format, though this gets mighty tricky unless you know what you're doing, and I've yet to see a Real file that was worth that kind of effort.
