Subject: Imac g5 ergonomics?
From: crb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I'm sorely tempted by the imac g5 20". Recently someone noted that the g5
was not nearly as ergonomic as the flat panel g4 - something about the
screen not being adjustable enough. Could anyone here who's got a g5
comment? Thanks much in advance. I'd hate to get it home and be surprised
by that kind of problem.

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

I do have both the 20" G5 and the 17" G4.

While the G5 is undoubtedly less adjustable than the G4, it has however a much crisper and brighter screen that is still perfectly usable even from an angled position.

That means that you don't need to adjust it as much as the G4 in order to have the optimal viewing angle.

If that was your main concern, I wouldn't worry about it.

The only thing I would say is that 20" is a lot of screen. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. Make sure you play around with it at the shop before taking it home. Mouse tracking takes quite some adjusting to.

Other than that, the G5 is a truly wonderful machine and the screen quality is awesome.

HTH,

Walter
