Never had the G4, but the G5 swivels on a pivot about mid screen, and
the top and bottom can move closer or further away. The base swivels
around on slippery feet, so the machine rotates in two dimensions:
1. On an axis drawn from left to right thru mid screen
2. On an axis drawn up and down from to to bottom of machine.
It does not raise or lower itself as did the arm of the G4.
I really like it.
