Hi All,

I've been subscribed and reading for 6 months, but if I remember rightly, this is my first message to this list.

I have had nothing but nightmares with my Netgear wireless router (it used to work for days but now drops me 10x a day, and I have extensively tested EVERY troubleshooting technique people have posted on the web, to no avail). Anyway, I am now in the market for an airport or airport express. I have a small apartment and use a cable modem.

I am wondering if there is any reason to get an Airport Extreme, which is $79 plus tax more than the Express? The Express does have a firewall and other security features, but maybe someone who understands these things better than me can tell me why the expensive version is worth it? Or not?

If it makes a difference, I plan to use it with a G4 powerbook with Airport Extreme 802.11g card, and an imac (either an old G3 or a new G5) I hope to get soon!

Many thanks!
Kate
