I just bought a Graphite iMac DV Special Edition
(Summer 2000, 500 MHz, Slot loading DVD-ROM, 30 GB
hard drive). The ethernet card/port is not working
- not a surprise, the seller said there was an
issue with it. (But he was only asking $25, so I
figured what the heck.)
It was running OS 9.0.4, but I've installed OS X
Panther on it now. In System Pref-Network -Network
Status, it says the cable is not plugged in. I
checked it with two different cables that I know
are functional, and it says the same thing - so
I'm pretty sure the card is the issue, like the
seller said.
I'm looking for suggestions on finding a
replacement card. I'm google-ing (and froogle-ing)
for '10/100Base-T ethernet card' - how do I know
if I'm getting one that's compatible and fits in
the iMac? And there must be a good link somewhere
with installation instructions?
Thanks,
Kathy K
