That's the X in the little square that turns it on and off. Restart your computer again and then try it. Sometimes that will work or if you just shut the modem off in control panels and restart it with it off and then turn it on again. It works on my 350 on occasions. I have thought I needed a new modem on this computer for over a year. ED
