Hi Larry, iMacers:
A couple of years ago, my Bondi Blue iMac failed to startup after
being used the night before. Consulting with this list came up with a
couple of ideas and suggestions, one being to check/replace the PRAM
battery on the motherboard. I got a replacement from Radio Shack but
it still wouldn't startup, so I took it apart again and this time
pressed the CUDA switch. After reassembling it a second time it then
started right up.
In my prior experience a dead PRAM battery caused a Mac to have the
wrong date and time. The Bondi Blue didn't have any history of wrong
date and time, it just suddenly up and wouldn't work. Just like it
was unplugged so I didn't suspect the PRAM battery.
So, other than checking the connections, replacing the PRAM battery
and resetting the CUDA switch is probably your least expensive path
to getting a startup. Good Luck!
