That's most likely =20 why you've all of a sudden started not getting images. You might try =20 downloading the latest version of Outlook Express from Microsoft as =20 yours is kind of "ancient" by now, and may no longer be fully =20 supported by your ISP. In addition, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to OS 9.2.2, available via =20 free downloads from Apple. Finally, recognize that this is fair warning concerning the future =20 Internet viability of your entire setup. In other words, it is time =20 to start thinking about migrating to more modern equipment or at =20 least a more modern OS (i.e., OS X). You can run OS X 10.2 Jaguar AND =20= OS 9.1-9.2.2 on your machine without a problem, though 192 MB RAM is =20 marginal, and your hard drive is just barely big enough to hold the =20 OS X install and leave you some breathing room. You also can run OS X =20= 10.3 Panther (via CD install disc). Or you can get OS X 10.4 Tiger =20 shoehorned in there if you can obtain CD install discs, even though =20 Apple does not formally support non-firewire machines for 10.4. You can buy yourself some time by upgrading your logic board to a =20 400-500 MHz Motorola-cpu logic board (careful; some 500 MHz logic =20 boards have IBM cpus which require a heat sink in a location =20 different than the built-in one in your 350) with dual firewire =20 ports, maxing out RAM at 512 MB and installing a larger hard drive =20 and a better optical drive than the standard 24xCD. But the cost of =20 doing this will be in the neighborhood of $200-300 (more or less), =20 which would buy a good used 600-700 MHz G3 iMac. Or you simply can =20 try one of the other browsers out there, such as iCab, that are =20 compatible with OS 9.x. But first, check with your ISP and find out =20 what versions of the Mac operating system, and corresponding =20 browsers, they now support and those they expect to be supporting in =20 the next year or so. Good luck. Jim= -------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim, Thanks for all the info. I will start with the basic stuff and work up to getting a new system. However, because I am on a limited income, it may be awhile before I can afford a whole new system. I realize that my 350 is an oldie, but it has only given me minor problems from time to time, so due to my financial straits and lack of interest in buying new equipment every six months, I have made do with what I could afford over the years. I know that progress is leaving me in the dust at a rapid rate electronically, but then I will be turning to dust myself before much longer. Again, thanks for your help. If I figure out what solves the problem, I'll drop the list a note. Bill -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
