Hi Group. Got a bit of a problem that has me stymied, and I¹m sure that the guru¹s on this list can help me out. Please?
First, the necessary background info: iMac Blueberry slot-loader, 350MHz, 6GB HD w/3.19GB available at this time, 192MB Memory, running OS 9.1, Virtual Memory is on. I¹m using Outlook Express v.4.5 as my mail handler. Memory of OE is set at 4k suggested, 6k minimum, and 10k preferred sizes. Up until a few days ago, everything hunky-dory. Can¹t recall doing anything new/different to cause this problem: Whenever I open an email with any embedded attachment(s), most times now I get only the image placeholder. Occassionally, it seems that the smaller images will eventually appear, but the larger pics will remain as placeholders. I¹ve tried dumping my OE preferences panel, my cache of internet prefs, and bumping up the OE preferred memory from 8k to 10k. So, any suggestions? I know it¹s some kinda memory problem, right? With all this unused HD space, and trashing pref files, I thought that would clear up the problem; but alas - no. I know that this is a stupid little mindless fix, but I¹m at a loss as to what it could be and how to correct it. If anyone can give me a point in the right direction, I would be forever greatful.
