Not too desperate I suppose, because I've got updates to install -
once they're installed, the computer will reboot and I'll be rid of
the offending program.
Well, assuming you are downloading it with Safari, you can quit
Safari & that should do it. If it is stubborn, then a force quit will
be necessary.
