Tim, when you exchange your HD, make sure you get a 160 G one. It's true that iMac can't see more that about 130 G of that, but then you still get quite a few more gigs than with a 120 G (which is less formatted), and HDs of these sizes cost about the same.

And when you get your HD replaced, be sure to partition it during formatting - AND include OS9 drivers. Good idea to have a smallish partition for OS9; whenever your OSX partition fails/corrupts, you can then force the iMac to boot from the OS9 side by holding down the key sequence: Option-Apple-Shift-backspace. Very handy!

Did you do the firmware update before OSX? Or else do it now, to avoid problems. To upgrade firmware you must boot in OS9
