I've noticed the same thing when I first boot up my (new to me iMac G3 400 mhz Indigo). I run it at 800 x 600...1024 x 768 is just too small, but it flickers and colors change a bit and such then after a while all seems to calm down. This iMac is sitting in my office surrounded by other Macs....a dual 1 gig G4 with a 19 inch VGA display, a dual 2 gig G5 with a 20 inch cinema display and a G3 Blue & White with a 17 inch matching monitor. Might moving it to another room solve the problem. I've been thinking of putting it in the kitchen. The only drawback is that I haven't yet bought the airport card carrier and have it connected to the network port via an airport express....although this is no problem as I can hide the wires. Opinions?

Do you have a fan, or any other device near it? Mine does the same thing if a poorly shielded device is too close!
