I've noticed the same thing when I first boot up my (new to me iMac G3 400 mhz Indigo). I run it at 800 x 600...1024 x 768 is just too small, but it flickers and colors change a bit and such then after a while all seems to calm down.

About how long did it take to become stable? I had mine on for at least 2 hours, and it only calmed down a tiny bit, but was still noticeable.

This iMac is sitting in my office surrounded by other Macs....a dual 1 gig G4 with a 19 inch VGA display, a dual 2 gig G5 with a 20 inch cinema display and a G3 Blue & White with a 17 inch matching monitor.

*drools* :-P lol

Might moving it to another room solve the problem.

I *did* notice that when it was here upstairs, it didn't jitter. Though, it *was* another circuit...

My dad's supposed to be running another line from the circuit breaker for the basement so there's power down there 24/7... (Current light switch cuts all power down there, so I have to unplug my computers before I come back upstairs).

although this is no problem as I can hide the wires. Opinions?

I would probably use the AirPort card, but that's just me - I'd like only 2 cables coming out of my iMac ;-)

The only drawback is that I haven't yet bought the airport card carrier and have it connected to the network port via an airport express....although this is no problem as I can hide the wires. Opinions?
