Hi,
The flat panel imac is different from my CRT version but there might
be a similar switch somewhere inside it. Thanks for the idea.

Hi,
I've got an indigo 400Mhz slot loading imac. The problem is that if
I unplug the power cable the date is never right when I switch it
back on. I've replaced the battery and zapped the pram but it still
isn't right.
While replacing the battery I did notice there was no plastic
'clip' like in my older macs. I don't suppose that means anything but
you never know.
Is there a way to test it the battery is even producing a voltage
inside the mac that's reaching the parts it should? could it be that
the battery holder stc is broken? Or is ther an even easier idea
anyone has?

Steve,
Just a thought: zapping the PRAM may not be enough. You may have to
reinitialize the complete Power Management Unit. I had
to do that to cope with a problem of outage.
There is info there, but I am not sure it applies to your configuration:

Hope this helps,
