I am planning to emmigrate from the US to England in the next few

With the exchange rate as it is at the moment, all I can say is that
you must be mad ... but I'm insanely jealous! :)
and I have a question about taking my iMac. The awkward point is
of course power, since Britain uses different voltage and plugs
than the
US. Anyone here know what I would need in the way of adaptors? I
have a
400 mHz G3 iMacDV.=20
Plug adapters you can get at ANY Radio Shack or electronics store of
any kind. As for whether you can USE the iMac there, I think *all*
the G3 iMac series had built-in transformers and were rated for
120-240V (therefore making them useful in the UK). Check near your
power plug, it should tell you. Contrary to myth, not ALL Mac models
are cross-ocean compatible, so be aware of this.
BTW I'm very sure it will work over there because I actually saw the
exact same model in the offices of Aardman Animation while watching
the
behind-the-scenes stuff on the Creature Comforts DVD:)
That actually doesn't mean anything. For years, Apple made identical
computers with different transformers for the different electrical
systems -- and on some models they still did (possibly still do).
Check first, or you'll fry that iMac and put yourself in danger.
