What I am wondering is could I run a first generation G4 imac 700 or 800 mhz on OS 9 alone? > After installing 9.1, use software update to get 9.22 etc. lowendmac specs show the min required os as 9.22. Assuming this is correct, would I be able to install 9.21 and then update to 9.22? Or would I need to have a 9.22 cd? I seem to recall trying something similar on an old imac g3 that needed at least 8.6. Could not install 8.5 and then update to 8.6, had to have the 8.6 cd. I'm just wondering if the same holds true here.
