Hello all; I have a question about installing a new printer that will be used by my G4 imac and my wife's Pismo. Right now I have a Brother MFC-420cn connected to my Buffalo Air Station wireless router via ethernet connection and it works for both computers flawlessly via Bonjour. However, I have picked up an Epson NX300 printer for free (after rebate, of course) while purchasing another item and I would consider retiring the Brother if two conditions can be met. The first is ink price (esp. colour) and I can research that myself. The second has to do with networking. While the Brother has both USB and ethernet interfaces, the Epson does not, only USB. That means I would have to plug it in my G4 and have my wife run through my computer's access to print, right? And if so, if my computer was in Sleep mode or turned off, would it affect the connection? Both machines are running Tiger 10.4.11, the Pismo is 400mhz; 1GB RAM; 30GB HDD while the G4 is 1.25 ghz; 2 GB RAM; 160 GB HDD. Any insight from my more learned Mac brethren would be appreciated.
