I was having the same problem . You might want to check the System
Preferences that control Expose´. The one that controls the hot
corners (active screen corners) Dashboard is set up there as one of
the corners. You can disable it there. I finally added a modifier key
to push while also moving the mouse to the hot corner. That solved my
problem of dashboard and some others showing up when I didn't want
them to. Now if I want dashboard I have to hit the modifier key while
also moving the cursor to the corner.
If all else fails you can remove Dashboard from the applications folder.

she doesn't use it and it "activates" when she doesn't want it to.
We've tried trashing the app and rebooting and it still shows up.
Is there anyway to get it totally off her machine and out of her life?
